Hunter Ewing
Hunter Ewing II is the Founder and Managing Director of High Ground Company. For more than 30 years, Hunter has specialized in life insurance-based strategies to address risk management and liquidity challenges for high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and family offices. His areas of expertise include estate and business succession planning, optimizing insurance portfolios, and developing innovative charitable giving strategies. Hunter began his career in 1994 with Northwestern Mutual and later became a partner at a specialty insurance firm in Atlanta. In 2013, he established High Ground Company to offer independent, high-level advisory services tailored to complex planning needs. He is the recent past president of the Atlanta Estate Planning Council and a former committee chair for Finseca in Washington, D.C.
Hunter earned a B.A. in English from the University of the South and an M.B.A. with a concentration in finance from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. He also holds the CLU® (Chartered Life Underwriter) and ChFC® (Chartered Financial Consultant) designations from The American College of Financial Services.
A native Atlantan, Hunter is married to Lisa, and they have three children: Hunter III, Peter, and Annabelle. He enjoys bird hunting with his English Cocker Spaniels, fishing, camping in the Appalachian Mountains, and occasionally playing golf and skiing. The Ewing family are active members of the Cathedral of Christ the King in Atlanta.
